This is my Coreopsis. I got this from a wildflower seed pack at Walmart about 3 years ago and it has done wonderfully. Its one of the first flowers to bloom in spring and keeps on blooming until winter. The summer heat doesn't bother it at all! I rarely have to water them.
I love this plant for its bright vibrant flowers. Bees love them too. After pollination, they set seeds and are a reliable re-seeder. Anywhere you scatter the seeds, new plants pop up.
I have that plant in the garden, some of the flowers have gone to see and the Goldfinches are there everyday have a feast. A great plant for any garden.

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely coreopsis! I have some orange cosmos that look very similar, and they just keep coming back every year. I just saw your post about four o'clocks; wow, I didn't know they would get that big!

I would love coreopsis to come back each year in my garden - wet winters are normally its worst enemy here. Growing plants from seed is so rewarding especially when they make themselves so much at home and start to reseed. Great investment plant and lovely photos :) Rosie
